Santana Peguero murió como consecuencia de trauma cráneo encálico severo y murió en el mismo lugar del hecho.
En el accidente también resultó herida Walkidia Tolentino, de 19 años, residente en la calle Principal del Ingenio Santa Fe. Presentaba traumas y laceraciones múltiples por lo que fue ingresada en el hospital Antonio Musa. Se informó que la motocicleta era conducida por la mujer
