CAP CANA, PUNTA CANA. La lancha Black Gold, procedente de la Florida, lideró la primera jornada del XlX Torneo Internacional de Pesca Cap Cana Billfish Shootout, evento que se desarrolla en este litoral, con la participación de 25 embarcaciones y un total de 100 pescadores nacionales y extranjeros, quienes se disputan los honores, tras la captura de las especies de pico (Marlin Azul, Marlin Blanco y Pez Vela).La tripulación de la Black Gold, integrada por Harry Sargent, Mike McCarty y Matt Melchior, capturó un total de 11 piezas el primer día, con las cuales totaliza 1,670 puntos, l e sigue la lancha Shark Byte, de Carolina del Norte con 1,260; mientras la Free Spoool, de Saint Thomas ocupa el tercer puesto con 1,200.
En el aspecto individual, el pescador más destacado de la primera jornada fue Manuel Battle, tripulante de la lancha Bandolera, quien acumuló un total de 740 puntos, escoltado por Harry Sargent (Black Gold) con 630, Mike McCarty (Black Gold) 630, Brooks Smith (Uno Más) 630 y Kyle Francis (Shark Byte) 630.
La primera jornada del importante certamen marítimo de pesca de altura, el cual tiene como punto de partido la impresionante Marina de Cap Cana, arrojó un sensacional saldo para las embarcaciones participantes, las cuales lograron un total de 52 capturas, 42 de ellas correspondieron a Marlin Blanco, 7 fueron azules y 3 Vela.
El Cap Cana Billfish Shootout, el cual marca el inicio de la temporada de pesca en este litoral, se caracteriza por atraer participantes de distintos países, quienes se reúnen en este afamado escenario para competir por los máximos honores de la actividad.
En el torneo participan pescadores procedentes de Saint Thomas, Aruba, Ecuador, Bahamas, Estados Unidos, Puerto Rico, Saint Marten, Trinidad & Tobago, Venezuela y la República Dominicana como país anfitrión.
