El presidente de la Coca Cola en Puerto Rico, Alberto de la Cruz , vendrá a República Dominicana para ser interrogado con relación al hallazgo por las autoridades de 3.3 millones de dólares en su villa de Casa de Campo, en La Romana, bajo cautela del Ministerio Público luego del decomiso del dinero.
El empresario boricua es propietario de una de las dos villas y un yate incautados por la Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas (DNCD) y la Procuraduría Fiscal de La Romana el viernes pasado durante el decomiso de los dólares, que estaban dentro de dos neveras playeras y varios bultos.
De la Cruz envió al país a su abogado en esa isla, Joaquín Monserrat, que junto a los juristas dominicanos Juan Julio Báez y Miguel Galván se reunieron con el procurador fiscal José Antonio Polanco para obtener información sobre la actuación de las autoridades en su villa y la incautación de esta y un yate.
Los abogados reclamaron la devolución de los bienes propiedad de De la Cruz retenidos por las autoridades dominicanas.
Monserrat prometió al procurador fiscal que su representado se presentará ante su despacho luego que retorne a Puerto Rico, desde donde tomará vuelo hacia República Dominicana para responder a requerimientos e inquietudes del Ministerio Público.
Los representantes de De la Cruz dijeron que este no se ha presentado ante la Procuraduría de La Romana porque estaba fuera de Puerto Rico, pero que tan pronto llegue a esa isla vendrá a La Romana, para reclamar sus bienes de manera personal junto a sus abogados y responder a cualquier inquietud de las autoridades.
En una rueda de prensa ayer, a través de su abogado de Puerto Rico, Joaquín Monserrat se desvinculó del dinero decomisado y de cualquier relación con actividades ilícitas.
Con relación al dinero incautado, la Fiscalía de La Romana sometió a un exmiembro del DNI y otras ocho personas.
