La Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas (DNCD) ocupó una libra y cuarta de marihuana que distribuida en cuatro paquetes fue enviada desde los Estados Unidos a la República Dominicana a través del Instituto Postal Dominicano (Inposdom).
Los cuatro paquetes de la sustancia alucinógena estaban envueltos en papel plástico transparente y eran procedentes de la ciudad de Milwaukee, Estados Unidos, enviados al país supuestamente por un hombre llamado Boa Peterson, según dice una nota informativa remitida por la agencia antidrogas.
La DNCD dijo que la marihuana tenía como destinatario a un tal Winlly Evel Samuel, supuestamente residente en la calle Padre Billini #71 del sector Cambelén, en la ciudad de Higüey.
El organismo precisó que en el decomiso de la droga participaron junto a la DNCD miembros de la oficina del Inposdom ubicada en la provincia La Altagracia, la cual es dirigida por la señora Margarita Castro Richiez, quien estuvo presente al momento de la inspección.
La marihuana tenía un peso aproximado de una libra y cuarta, no precisado aún por el laboratorio forense, y fue enviada a la Inspectoría de la DNCD en Higüey bajo custodia del capitán Julio Cesar Vargas Marmolejos, E.N., oficial asignado a la agencia antinarcóticos en esa localidad.
Tras el decomiso, la DNCD puso en marcha una investigación a los fines de capturar a los involucrados en este frustrado envío.
