El pasado mes de marzo, durante la presentación del nuevo sistema operativo BlackBerry 10 y los terminales Z10 y Q10 en España, la compañía canadiense ya había anunciado la inclusión de la famosa plataforma de mensajería entre sus aplicaciones disponibles en la App World.
En aquel momento sólo estaba disponible para Z10 pero finalmente, el modelo más sencillo Q10 también tiene la opción de descargárselo. El modelo Q10 cuenta con teclado QWERTY, para facilitar la escritura más tradicional.
Además posee una cámara con flash LED en la parte de atrás de 8 megapíxeles, y otra en la parte delantera.
Posee una pantalla Super AMOLED touchscreen de 3,1 pulgadas, capacidad de almacenamiento de 16GB con posibilidad de incrementarla a 64GB y 2GB de memoria RAM.
Destaca su clásico teclado físico, incorporado a un teléfono móvil de alta gama. Pero hasta ahora tenía un handicap y es que no contaba con el Whatsapp.
Este servicio de mensajería instantánea tiene un gran calado entre los usuarios y sigue siendo una aplicación de gran importancia, la ausencia en este modelo podía suponer una desventaja a la hora de adquirir el modelo, ya que para muchos es una de las aplicaciones fundamentales en su terminal.
WhatsApp ha lanzado la versión 2.9.5773 para BlackBerry que corrige pequeños fallos de la versión para Z10 y a la vez es compatible para su descarga en Q10.
El «smartphone» está empezando ahora a despegar en determinados mercados, de forma que no está disponible en todos los países, incluido España. Aquí habrá que esperar un poco más todavía para probar que tal es el WhatsApp en el teclado físico del Q10.
