Alex Areché, de 27 años, cegó la vida de su progenitora con múltiples heridas de arma blanca.
El hecho ocurrió alrededor de las 11:30 de la mañana en la vivienda de ambos, ubicada en la calle Enrique Ríos # 40, del sector Nazaret en Higüey, provincia La Altagracia.
La fallecida fue identificada como María Areché, de 46 años, quien se desempeñaba como secretaria de la Escuela Primaria Antonio Guzmán.
El cadáver fue trasladado a la morgue del Hospital Nuestra Señora de La Altagracia.
El confeso homicida permaneció por más de 20 minutos atrincherado en su vivienda, que estuvo rodeada por agentes de la Policía.
Aunque logró escapar por la parte trasera de la casa fue apresado a unos 500 metros de la misma.
