Santo Domingo.-El presidente Hipólito Mejía acordó con el ministro de Interior y Policía y el jefe de la Policía, entregar la custodia del local el Partido Revolucionario Dominicano (PRD), a la Policía, con la condición de que el mismo no sea devuelto a la facción de Miguel Vargas.
Posteriormente la dirección del partido blanco entregó la Casa Nacional al general Víctor Campusano, subjefe de la Policía Nacional.
La entrega fue encabezada por Andrés Bautista, presidente en funciones; Orlando Jorge Mera, secretario general; Geanilda Vásquez, Ramón Alburquerque, Milagros Ortiz Bosch, Tirso Mejía Ricart, entre otros.
El presidente en funciones del PRD, Andrés Bautista manifestó que se está en procura de que se imponga la razón.
Bautista dijo que las autoridades actuales del PRD tienen ya 4 años y que este año el partido debe escoger nuevas autoridades y llamar a una convención.
Destacó que debe buscarse una solución al impase señalando que no se le debe entregar el local a Vargas sino a ellos ya que fue comprado en la gestión de Ramón Alburquerque cuando era presidente de partido.
Jorge Mera expresó que “estamos en medio de una crisis a la que hay que buscar una salida excepcional”.
Explicó que por el bien del PRD hay que respetar el acuerdo pactado por el ex presidente Mejía con las autoridades por lo cual el local del PRD se mantendrá bajo la custodia de la Policía hasta tanto se produzca un acuerdo a lo interno de la entidad política.
Saludó el espíritu militante de las bases de la organización.
El ex presidente del PRD, Ramón Alburquerque expresó que si el local de la Casa Nacional es entregado a Miguel Vargas, las bases retomarán la sede partidaria
Mientras, el doctor Rafael Suberví Bonilla expresó que el ex presidente Hipólito Mejía entregó el local perredeísta a la Policía Nacional bajo la garantía de que el mismo no será entregado a Miguel Vargas, advirtiendo de que si eso sucede el gobierno será responsable de lo que pueda acontecer..
El Presidente Mejía delegó la entrega del local en una comisión integrada por Orlando Jorge Mera, Andrés Bautista, Geanilda Vásquez, Milagros Ortiz Bosch, Tirso Mejía Ricart, Rafael (Fafa) Taveras, Jesús Vásquez y varios diputados.
