MICHES.- Unas 40 personas que tomaron una yola para llegar a Puerto Rico, estuvieron a puto de morir ahogado, cuando la embaración que ocupaban zozobró en costa de Miches, reportaron las autoridades de la Armada Dominicana en la zona.
Los indocumentados, 27 hombres y 13 mujeres naufragaron en la zona de Vacama a varias millas náuticas de Miches, cuya embarcación se viró con el fuerte oleaje que afecta la zona y comenzó a llenarse de agua.
El grupo llegó a nado hasta la costa y se encuentra detenido y bajo vigilancia en la comandancia local de la Marina de Guerra en Miches.
Tan pronto se tuvo noticias del inminente naufragio, a la zona se dirigió un helicóptero capitaneado por Pedro Yarull y José García Armenteros, quienes dieron la voz de alarma a la Marina de Guerra.
Originalmente se había informado que en la embarcación viajaban 80 personas, pero luego la cifra fue rectificada al conocerse el número exacto de los náufragos.
